San Joaquin Cogen Plant

The San Joaquin Cogen Plant is located in Lathrop, California just south of Stockton.  Colorado Energy Management entered into an agreement to provide operations and maintenance of this plant in April of 2006.

Owned by San Joaquin Cogen, LLC, a subsidiary of Centennial Power, Inc., a subsidiary of Bicent Power Company, San Joaquin Cogen is a 50 MW steam injected simple-cycle plant.  A Deltak HRSG is coupled with a General Electric LM5000 gas turbine to provide peaking power for Southern Cal Edison under a long term power purchase agreement.

Originally a Cogeneration Facility providing steam to a nearby glass plant in addition to power production when the plant went commercial in 1990, San Joaquin has been operating as a merchant power plant during most of the early 2000’s.  Currently, all steam produced in the HRSG is injected into the gas turbine for both power augmentation and emissions control.

O&M services are provided by a diverse Colorado Energy Management staff comprised of long-time San Joaquin employees and seasoned CEM veterans, specializing in both routine maintenance services and daily operations.
