Brush 4D is located in Brush, Colorado on the Eastern plains
of the state. The plant is located on a multi-plant, multi-owner
site known collectively as the Brush Power Projects. A diverse
and talented staff of Colorado Energy Management plant operators
and maintenance professionals provides all operations and maintenance
functions for the plant, including major maintenance items such
as planned outages and periodic equipment upgrades. The same
staff concurrently provides the same services for the other
plants on site as well as another plant site a few miles away,
the Manchief Electric Generation
Station, providing unparalleled "economy of scale"
savings for all plant owners. Owned by Brush
Power, LLC, a subsidiary of Centennial Power, Inc., a subsidiary of Bicent Power Company, Brush 4D is a 138 MW
combined cycle facility with two Westinghouse 251AA Gas Turbines,
two NEM HRSG's and one GE Steam Turbine. The plant is dispatchable,
daily start and stop, with retention of rapid start simple cycle
capability by the utilization of stack dampers. This plant is
equipped with Automatic Generation Control (AGC) for the power
purchaser as a revenue enhancement for the plant owners.
Following operation for two years as a simple cycle facility,
the upgrade to combined cycle was completed by Colorado
Energy Management's EPC Division in May of 2002.
Development, EPC, and O&M services
have been provided by Colorado Energy Management since the plant's
inception.
