Brush 2 is located in Brush, Colorado on the Eastern plains
of the state. The plant is located on a multi-plant, multi-owner
site known collectively as the Brush Power Projects. A diverse
and talented staff of Colorado Energy Management plant operators
and maintenance professionals provides all operations and maintenance
functions for the plant, including major maintenance items such
as planned outages and periodic equipment upgrades. The same
staff concurrently provides the same services for the other
plants on site as well as another plant site a few miles away,
the Manchief Electric Generation
Station, providing unparalleled "economy of scale"
savings for all plant owners. Owned by CTI Partners II and Brush
Cogeneration Partners, Brush 2 is a 68 MW combined cycle facility
with one GE Frame 6B Gas Turbine, one Vogt HRSG and one GE Steam
Turbine. Originally designed as a Cogeneration Facility, Brush
2 operators continue to provide thermal energy in the form of
hot water to an adjacent 19 acre greenhouse. The plant is automatically
dispatched, with daily start and stop.
Colorado Energy Management personnel have provided continuous services from the concept stage through development,
design and Owner's Engineer Services. Our talented and diverse operating staff has provided solid and
successful O&M services since the plant achieved commercial operation in January of 1994.
